Lip Micropigmentation Protocol

Lip micropigmentation gives you an elegant, perfectly shaped pout. The use of soft, realistic shades will make your lips look their best with a natural finish.

Who is it for?

This treatment will subtly enhance the appearance of the smile for all lip types.

Nude Color Process: A natural contouring technique without outlines.

It is particularly recommended for people with lips that are too thin, asymmetrical, discolored, have a blurred outline, or have scars.

Lip Touch: A semi-permanent makeup technique that helps restore the lips' natural color, giving them a healthy appearance.

Session procedure:

The session begins with an interview to discuss your expectations and preferences, followed by a preliminary sketch.

The redefined line is the one that best complements your natural lip line, allowing you to fill in your lips 1 mm above the natural lip line.

Then we choose a shade that matches the skin tone, opting for light, natural shades.

Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours for lip pigmentation.

Please email 3 photos of the area to be treated to hola@landi.es. Make sure you are not wearing any makeup.

Precautions and care BEFORE your appointment:

  • Keep your lips moisturized.

  • Not pregnant or exclusively breastfeeding (6 months).

  • We recommend an antiviral treatment (LISINA, 500 mg or equivalent)—one capsule per day—starting four days before your appointment.

  • For people prone to herpes, we recommend consulting your pharmacist or doctor about taking a stronger antiviral medication.

  • Be relaxed when you go to your appointment.

  • After the treatment, your lips will be very swollen. If you wish, you can take Arnica Montana 9CH, 5 granules, 3 times a day, starting 48 hours before your appointment to help prevent this swelling.

  • It’s best not to schedule any important appointments for the next 4–6 hours (or longer, depending on your skin type) after the treatment, so you can feel comfortable.

  • Apply a thick layer of 5% EMLA anesthetic cream* 30 minutes before your appointment. Or, if you prefer, you can come to the studio and we’ll apply it for you.

Will I look presentable after the session?

As we mentioned, after micropigmentation, the lips will appear

swelling. These effects usually subside within 4–6 hours, depending on skin type.

Please note that in some cases, the client leaves the clinic wearing a lip mask to protect their lips during the first few hours.

At the same time, keep in mind that the rendering may appear quite dark immediately after the session and for the next few days.

What is the healing process?

After micropigmentation, the skin heals in several stages.

Within 7 days of the micropigmentation procedure:

  • Lips become dry, crack, and develop small flakes of skin that fall off. The skin underneath is the healed skin, where the color remains.

  • The epidermis peels, removing excess pigment, and the fading phase begins. The remaining color will be softer and more muted; at times, it may even seem as though the color has completely disappeared.

Starting in the second week, the intensity gradually begins to increase.

  • Within 4–6 weeks, the skin has completed the healing process and appears more radiant.

PRECAUTIONS FOR HERPES: As we know, herpes is a very common virus; it’s not dangerous, but it can be a bit embarrassing.

When undergoing lip micropigmentation, cold sores may occur in people who are more susceptible to the virus or simply in those with weakened immune systems.

What should you do if you have a cold sore?

> Clean your lips with a damp cotton ball and mild soap—preferably natural—three times a day. (You can purchase it at the studio.)

> Apply an antiviral cream such as ACICLOVIR or Sikapur Herpes (check with your pharmacist) to the affected area and stop using the recommended healing cream.

> Follow the treatment plan, be patient, and wait for it to pass.

The color looks dark to me—is that normal?

As the days go by and the healing process progresses, the line will become more refined, the color will lose 30 to 40% of its intensity, and it will evolve into a more subtle and luminous shade, blending seamlessly with the skin after 4 to 6 weeks.

Precautions and aftercare following your appointment:

Proper care during the first 7 days is crucial for the healing process following dermopigmentation. It is important to follow these guidelines as closely as possible to ensure the best possible results.

  • Clean your lips with a cotton pad and water 3 times a day. (After meals.)

  • Apply a specific healing cream that we recommend at the clinic after each cleaning.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 5 days. During the summer, apply sunscreen at the beach or pool.

  • Avoid applying cosmetics or makeup to the treated area.

  • Avoid getting into water (beach, pool, sauna, hot tub, spa, etc.)

  • Go about your daily life as usual.

Edits:

All clients who have had their first micropigmentation session should have a second (touch-up) session to complete the procedure.

The cost of the touch-up is not included in the price.

The monthly update should be performed one month after creation (the deadline for doing so is two months).

The monthly retouching fee is €50.

If the touch-up has to be rescheduled for reasons beyond our control, please note that the price will no longer be the same. You should take into account the time that has passed since the first session and select the appropriate touch-up option when booking your appointment.

Not taking advantage of the monthly discount does not mean you can get it at the same price at any time in the future.
