Permanent Makeup and Sports: The Makeup Solution for Female Athletes

If you're a woman who loves sports but also cares about your appearance and wants to look your best in every situation, you've probably worried about having to go without makeup at the gym. What if micropigmentation were the solution you've been waiting for?

How many times have you had to leave your eyebrow pencil at home when you go to the gym? How many times have you wished you had a truly long-lasting eyeliner that could withstand your intense spinning classes?

Let's face it: there are plenty of us women who are addicted to sports and healthy living but don't want to compromise on looking good during our workouts. Why can we buy the latest trendy leggings, but we can't rock perfect eyebrows at the gym?

Traditionally, we’ve had to avoid wearing makeup while exercising, because sweat opens up the pores and can cause makeup to be absorbed more easily. This can clog the pores and isn’t ideal for maintaining healthy skin.

But… what if we told you we have the solution to help you look your best every day at the gym? At Landi Studio, we’re thrilled to tell you that, thanks to micropigmentation, those days are now a thing of the past. Did you know that micropigmentation can be the secret weapon that helps you look your best at the gym? Find out!

Permanent Makeup and Sports: The Ideal Makeup Solution for Athletes

The main advantage of micropigmentation as a semi-permanent makeup option for athletes is that this technique is resistant to sweat, as well as to pool water and sauna steam. Active women can resume their sports activities 15 days after their first micropigmentation session, allowing them to look their best at the gym.

In this regard, micropigmentation allows women who love sports to forget about lipstick, eyebrow pencil, and eyeliner— especially the waterproof versions. This is because waterproof makeup is formulated with ingredients that ensure it stays on the skin for an extended period, so daily or continuous use of these products is not recommended. In addition, waterproof formulas also require more thorough makeup removal and facial cleansing to ensure that not a trace of the product remains on the skin.

Nude Color Process: enhances the natural beauty of your lips

With Landi Studio’s lip micropigmentation, you’ll enjoy enhanced lips—not only in shape but also in tone and color—thanks to the work we perform in the studio on your lip mucosa. Your lips will be enhanced, rejuvenated, and brightened with a custom shade blend created just for you, tailored to your preferences, skin tone, facial features, and natural lip color.

Eyeliner Microblading: Perfect Eyeliner at the Gym

If you’re looking to maintain the perfect eyeliner line every day and at the gym, eye micropigmentation at Landi Studio is the ideal solution. With our delicate technique, we guarantee a subtle, elegant, and delicate line that frames your eyes, adding a touch of intensity. Your eyes will look perfectly defined every day… even if you’re not an expert at applying eyeliner!

Eyebrow Microblading and Sports: Say Goodbye to Sweat!

If you have sparse, mature, or faint eyebrows and you’re a woman who loves sports, you’ve probably had to deal with going to the gym and leaving your eyebrow pencil behind. Luckily, eyebrow micropigmentation—using our Soft Brows technique—is the perfect solution for looking your best while you work out.

Soft Brows is an exclusive technique at Landi Studio that combines hair-by-hair strokes—which hyper-realistically recreate natural hair growth—with eyebrow shading, which mimics the look of eyebrow makeup. The result is beautifully shaped, elegant eyebrows that frame your face’s natural beauty. No more feeling self-conscious about going to the gym without makeup!

Permanent Makeup and Exercise: How Long Do I Have to Wait to Exercise After My Treatment?

Now that you know that micropigmentation is the perfect solution for looking your best at the gym and during your workouts, it’s time to find out how long you need to wait before resuming your exercise routine. This depends on the type of exercise and how intensely you do it.

Here's a rough estimate of how long you should wait before returning to your favorite sport:

Water sports and saunas

Ideally, you should wait at least 10 days after undergoing micropigmentation; however, at Landi Studio, we recommend waiting the full 4 weeks it takes for the treatment to heal after the first session. This way, we ensure that there will be no potential irritation or infection in the area caused by external agents found in public places, such as saunas and swimming pools.

Also, if you go swimming in chlorinated water right after your micropigmentation session, the chlorine can affect the final color of your treatment. So it’s best to wait at least a few days, don’t you think?

If you’ve had eyeliner micropigmentation and want to participate in water sports, you should wait at least 72 hours and always wear swimming goggles. This will completely prevent water, chlorine, or salt from getting into your eyes.

Gym and other cardiovascular exercises

During cardiovascular exercise, excessive sweating is a concern, so it’s best to wait 48 hours after micropigmentation before working out at the gym. Also, when you return to the gym, be sure to gently clean the treated area with a cotton pad thoroughly soaked in water after sweating during the first week.

Sky and snow sports

Just as you would when returning to the gym, you should wait at least 48 hours before putting on your skis . In addition, if you frequently participate in snow sports, you should take great care to protect your micropigmentation from the sun’s rays, especially around the eyebrows and lips.

When it comes to eye micropigmentation, if you participate in snow sports, it’s very important to protect your eyes from the sun by wearing sunglasses with wide temples. This will prevent sunlight from sneaking in around the sides of your glasses and causing eye irritation. It is especially important to protect yourself from the sun while your eye micropigmentation is healing, so you can avoid any irritation or more serious problems, such as conjunctivitis.

Just as in the previous point, it’s also very important not to overlook the special care required for the healing process, especially during the first 4 weeks following your first session.

Beach sports

Beach sports are particularly dangerous because of the dust, bacteria, and sand particles that can become airborne when you exercise on the beach. So, if this applies to you and you enjoy playing sports on the beach, we recommend that you be very careful and wait until the area has fully healed—that is, one month after your micropigmentation session.

As you can see, if you're an athlete and care about your appearance, at Landi Studio we have all the perfect treatments to help you stay active without compromising your beauty. Micropigmentation and sports: your beauty allies at the gym. Will you come see us?
